DECADENT BANANA BREAD RECIPE

I love bananas and chocolate, so this recipe is the perfect combination. It’s banana-y, it’s chocolate, and it’s perfectly rich. Plus, it’s perfect to up your quarantine baking game! It’s a fun (albeit slightly messy) family recipe that everyone can have fun with. So let’s start mashing bananas!


Recipe

Ingredients:

  1. 1 & 2/3 cups all-purpose flour

  2. 1 teaspoon baking soda

  3. 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  4. 1/2 teaspoon salt

  5. 1 cup + 2 tablespoons sugar

  6. 2 eggs

  7. 1/2 cup oil

  8. 3 & 1/2 bananas (very ripe) mashed

  9. 2 tablespoons plain greek yogurt

  10. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  11. As many chocolate chips as you would like :)

Directions:

  1. Set oven to 350 degrees F. Line the bottom of a loaf pan with parchment paper.

  2. Sift together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, & salt. Beat sugar & eggs with a whisk until light and fluffy, about 10 minutes. Drizzle in oil. Add mashed bananas, greek yogurt, and vanilla.

  3. Fold in dry ingredients and chocolate chips.

  4. Pour into a lined loaf pan and bake for 45 minutes to an hour.

Notes:

  1. You could add walnuts to this recipe for a delicious crunch

  2. It makes about 8 slices of thick banana bread

  3. The greek yogurt could be replaced with sour cream or creme fraiche - or even vegan yogurt
