Easy Homemade Bagels
Hi everyone! If you’re looking for an easy, quick, & no yeast bagel recipe, you’re in the right place. Being in quarantine I have been blessed with lots of family time and baking. However, I haven’t been able to go to my favorite bagel shops. Being from the Jersey Shore, bagels are pretty important to me. I found a foolproof recipe for bagels that is family friendly and delicious! Plus, it’s healthy-ish because it’s made with greek yogurt. Truly bae-goals!
Recipe:
Ingredients for 6 Bagels
2 cups of all-purpose flour
3 teaspoons of baking powder
1 teaspoon of sea salt
1 & 1/2 cups of plain Greek yogurt
1 egg beaten for egg wash
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F
Butter a baking sheet & set aside
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt & yogurt. Mix until dough forms. Put onto a lightly floured work surface and knead until soft and no longer sticky.
Divide dough into 6 equal portions. Roll each portion into a rope using your hands and cinch ends together to form a bagel.
Place onto the prepared baking sheet. Brush egg wash (stirred egg) over the bagels and top with desired toppings. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
Notes
Top it with whatever you’d like! I love everything bagel seasoning from Trader Joes or a cinnamon sugar mixture. Feel free to get creative!
I also made 2 fun cream cheeses: southwest spice & sweet cream using confectionary sugar. Have fun with it!
Recipe can easily be halved or doubled. Perfect for the whole family!
Hope you enjoy!
