Garlic Rosemary Focaccia Bread (Thin)
This was the first recipe I ever used for focaccia. It is based off of a recipe from Inspired Taste. It is so was so simple and fun to make. Plus, it’s crispy at the top, chewy in the middle, and delicious all over. I know you’ll all love it!
Recipe
Ingredients:
1/2 cup olive oil
2 garlic cloves
1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme
1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary
1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
1 cup warm water
2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
1/4 teaspoon honey
2 1/2 cups (315 grams) all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
Directions:
Get 1/2 a cup of olive oil & mix it with thyme, rosemary, and pepper - heat it up & stir for 5 minutes or until it’s aromatic
Put the water, honey & yeast, stir & let sit
Add 1 cup flour and 1/4 of the olive oil mix to the bowl, stir & let sit for 5 minutes
Stir in the remaining flour and 1/2 tsp salt
Knead 10-15 times
Transfer to an oiled bowl, cover with a damp towel and let sit in a warm area of your kitchen
Set a timer for an hour
When the hour is up, preheat your oven to 450
Oil your baking sheet with a bit of the remaining oil and press the dough down into the pan and add dimples (as shown above)
Top with the remaining oil mixture and let sit for 20 minutes
Bake for 15-20 minutes (golden brown)
I then added salt, left to cool, and served with marinara sauce
